pen and ink

Its a piece of white paper and some sort of black pen.
I start and out comes what wants to come out.
If I mess it up, I have to start over again.
no sketches, no pre-drawing, no erasing or altering. It is what it is.

I used to draw with pencil and got sick of it.
When I was 20isch I thought there must be a way of showing expressions, emotions and features without that mutch scrabbeling and smudging.
I was looking for a way to express a snapshot of a state of being in a moment in time with as little lines as possible. That was my challenge.
(I have to admit that I like lots of lines, too;))

Yes, I know - comics are a great idea. The only problem is I can't do the same face twice. Tried it. Ain't gonna happen.
They are what they wanted to become.
I just let them out.

Thank god they are black and white - this way I can share them with everybody without having to give the original away. I hate the idea of one person having the original and the rest of the world doesn't get to see it because they can't afford it.
I like the idea of someone using this as a postcard or fridge - sticker.
It makes them accessible for you if you don't have big bucks for fine art:)

Blessings

Thank everyone for the favourites and comments! It means a lot to me.
In case I skip answering someone accidently - here is your THANKS! with sugar on top.
Blessings.

Hi, I liked the look of your gallery, very much. I too used to be very keen on the works of the 'art nouveau' period. (As well as the pre-raphaelites - and, of course, the 19c symbolists). Great work - keep it up!
